My Favorite Healthy Sandwiches

tuna&avocado     Recently, I’ve been getting bored with the same old sandwiches to eat for lunch. So, I began to experiment! When I experiment, I literally will try anything. I have ended up making some things that are not good! But in my older days, I think my experiments are actually turning into little masterpieces. So I took 3 simple, plain sandwiches and put my own little healthy spin on them. If you want to check them out keep reading .

  1. Turkey and Spinach Sandwich

                Ingredients:

                –Whole grain bread

                -Fresh sliced deli turkey meat

-Fresh organic baby spinach (or kale)

                -Avocado

                -Oregano

Instructions:

I like to toast my bread, but you can gladly skip this step if you would like

-Mash avocado and spread it on the toast (this is a healthy substitute for mayo!)

-Then put add the oregano, turkey, and spinach.

-Voila! I love this sandwich; it’s so tasty and healthy.

                 -Relish

                 -Crispy Onions

 -Instructions:

-Mash the avocado in a bowl

-Drain tuna and add into bowl with avocado and mix

-Add relish to mixture

-Coat outside of the bread with organic butter and add tuna mixture in between

-Add crispy onions and spinach on top of the tuna and close sandwich

-Place the sandwich the butter side down in a frying pan, like you would a grilled cheese

-Toast it to your preference

  1. Turkey and Cream Cheese Sandwich

                 -Ingredients:

                 -Whole grain bread

                 -Fresh sliced turkey deli meat

                 -Organic low fat cream cheese

                 -Organic baby spinach (or kale)

 -Instructions:

-I like to toast my bread, but you can gladly skip this step if you would prefer.

-Add cream cheese to inner sides of bread

-Add turkey and spinach (or kale)

*I sometimes toast the sandwich in a frying pan to warm it up, like you would a grilled cheese.

As you can tell I really like warm, toasty sandwiches. I have been rotating these for the past few weeks. These sandwiches have really brought me out of the sandwich slump. I actually enjoy eating lunch and making these sandwiches. I love having food that tastes delicious, but that is also good for me! I have noticed that food that tastes the best is normally the food that is the worst for us. I want to change that and start developing recipes that actually taste delicious and that are healthy and nutritious for our bodies!

Thanks for much for reading! Have a blessed day.
