Quick and Healthy Breakfast

Breakfast_1Hey guys!

I’m going to share with you a quick and healthy breakfast recipe. If you’re anything like me, having a quick, but healthy and filling breakfast is important. I can’t skip breakfast and it’s hard for me to just run out the door with just a piece of fruit or a breakfast bar. I need something hearty and filling, but on the week days I barely have any time to make something. So, something quick and easy is the way to go!

This is one of my favorite go to breakfast recipes. I probably have this a couple times a week. All you need is:

-Organic Steel Cut Oats

-Water or Milk

-Granola of your choice (I used organic fruit and nut)

-Banana (or any fruit, I also recommend blueberries or strawberries if you are craving a more sweet flavor)

-Organic Honey

DIRECTIONS:

-Put 1/4 cup oats and 1/2 cup water or milk in a quart sized microwavable safe bowl (the oatmeal will spill over if you use a regular sized bowl).

-Heat in microwave 3 to 3 1/2 minutes or until the majority of water or milk has soaked up, depending on if you like it more liquified or dry.

-Transfer to a smaller bowl.

-Add honey

-Add however much granola you would like

-Cut up fruit and toss in the bowl

And Voila!

Takes about 5 minutes or less to prepare. As you can see in the photo I made myself some green tea to go along with it. This is a perfect quick and healthy meal to start the day. It keeps me full and satisfied until lunch time, which is great for work days so that my stomach isn’t interrupting the office by constantly growling. I especially recommend this meal for anyone with acid reflux (oats are the best food to eat for people with acid reflux!)

Hope you all enjoy this quick breakfast and tweet me a picture if you try it!

Have a blessed day
